Albisano Lake Garda
Albisano, another village of Torri, together with Ca 'Tronconi, Crerar, Le Camille, the first listed Pai and Spighetta, is located 300 m. above sea level.
Higher than Pai boasts breathtaking views over the lake and below the town of Torri. Houses are gathered in the square, where we also find the church of San Martino. Albisano is crossed by a road that connects the hinterland.
In the past, inhabited mainly by farmers (fishermen and traders lived in the area nearest the lake: Torri), the area was planted with vines and cereals. Albisano consists of many districts and villages, each with its own peculiarities: Fate (assigned by "fate" to the veterans of war in Roman times), BRE (wooded area not cultivated), Bradin, Coi, Sevin, Field, and Locrinus Valmagra.
THE PATH OF ROCK ENGRAVINGS AND THE COUNTRYSIDE OF ALBISANO From Gardesana we go up the road to Albisano for about one km and we take Via Belliniat the first bend. For a short distance the road is uphill and then mostly flat with some up and down running almost parallel to the coast towards San Vigilio. As we go ahead, the environment is more rustic, nestled in the woods and olive trees with magnificent views over the Lake and
Torri del Benaco. When you begin to go down we take the flat road on the left among cypress trees, and soon we come to a cabin water (1h 15 '): here we go up a path to Carpane, so-called for the presence of a huge hornbeam. Here there are several paths, but we take the one to the left leading up the mountain.
On the right of the track, still partly paved, we have an almost continuous succession of rocks smoothed by glaciers Quaternary (Liscioni) and 5 minutes from Carpane we find the Rock of griselle with graphite boats and guns of various ages; continuing, after about 10 minutes we arrive to the "Stone of knights", with engravings of historical time. After the Stone of knights the track becomes easier and less steep: we neglect the deviation to the left leading to Murette and soon we arrive at the top of the hill at the entrance of the estate of Canossa di Brè. From here a confortable dirt road, surrounded by woods, leads us to Albisano: after a well we grafted onto a dirt road where we keep the left .* When you see the first cultivated fields and olive trees we are close to the district of Sorte that we cross to reach Volpara the road that leads from Albisano to Garda (2h 45 ').
Here, we turn left and within few minutes we arrive at a parking lot - The village of Albisano (m 309) is worth a visit if only for the wonderful panorama from outside the church - in front of which there is a staircase that descends to the lake; we follow it and when we turn on the dirt road to the left, we overcome the district of Valmagra and we go down the paved road to the Val Randina that we skirt up to a capital: we turn left and just before the fountain of Còp we go down along a paved road that leads to Loncrino di sotto, where there is a capital from 1513. We pass the so-called Préa scrita a plaque from 1769, enclosed in a wall, and soon we are at Torri (4 h). * To get on top of Mount Luppia, shortly after having grafted on the dirt road, we can also take the road to the right towards Brè; once we reach the district, the road turns left and, at the crossroad, we go up to the left, keeping the main street.
When we come to a great oak, we find a crossroad. We turn right and in short while, always following the marked trail, we reach the crest of Mount Luppia (m 416), where we find the Rock of Sengia Alta. Then following the path of the ridge, we go ahead towards Albisano - heading north - passing from Sorte.
