Excurtions in Torri del Benaco

Torri del Benaco is not only lake and blue water, but has also a hinterland considered by many people the most extensive and interesting of the whole coast. It 's a perfect combination of folk art, nature and landscape. Knowing the area better, along its trails you can walk dozens of kilometers towards Castelletto, Garda, San Zeno di Montagna constantly changing routes.

The route recommended for this occasion starts from Via Bellini, in Santa Croce (the first curve of the road for Albisano), crosses the old road Gardesana, also called "Road of horses", to turn after three kilometers to Albisano and walking back down the trail, between old districts recently refreshed.



It's possible to do this tour of about nine kilometers by feet or by mountin bike; after the first three kilometers of dirt road we take the path of rock engravings that will lead us to Albisano.
On the right of this village we note the first stone engraved named "Roccia delle Griselle" which depicts a series of boats; on the same rock have been found other interesting engravings depicting weapons: thanks to their caracteristics it was possible to determine its age (about 3000 years). Of the same period are the twelve knights armed with spears, carved on the other rock.

Going forward you arrive in Ca 'Bianca, and then to Albisano crossing the district of Sorti; once you reach the capital of the Crucifix, on the junction Torri - Albisano, take a small path on the left, cross the main road and you will be in Valmagra; continuing downhill you will arrive in Torri del Benaco.
